ABOUT
Back in 2021, during the height of the COVID pandemic, I started walking along old railways to learn more about their history and see what remnants were still around. This turned into a project where I began filming my walks and sharing short videos on my YouTube channel. The topics vary depending on where I can go and when, but I have plenty more ideas in the works.
I’m not a professional—just using my phone to film and Adobe Premiere Elements to edit. The videos can be a bit rough around the edges, but they’re more about sharing interesting stories than looking polished. I know I’ve made some mistakes, like mixing up Taffs Well and the Taff Vale Railway in earlier videos, but I’m learning as I go!

WHAT DO I FILM?
My key interest is railways, specifically disused and abandoned railways. However anything coming under the heading of Industrial Archaeology is included.
Railways
Disused railways
South Wales saw a boom in rail building in the late 19th and early 20th century. Many of these lines and tramways were used to move freight, mainly coal, from the ports to the docks. Many are now close, abandoned and disused.
Canals
Canals and other wet stuff
Canals started the industrial revolution, with movement of goods around the country. Many relics of old canals, both in South Wales and beyond, feature.
Off the Tracks
Other industrial archaeology
OK, the heading is a cop out, but anything else that grabs my interest fits here. There are so many old buildings, relics and bits of industrial architecture across the region and beyond. If I like it, I film it
